Hazrat Muhammad (Sm) Its cartoonist died on the road-মহানবী (সা.)-এর ব্যঙ্গচিত্র আঁকা কার্টুনিস্ট সড়কে প্রাণ হারালেন
Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks has been widely criticized for drawing a controversial cartoon about the Prophet Muhammad. He has been living under strict police guard since 2006 due to death threats.
The cartoonist was killed in an accident while in a police car on Sunday (October 3rd). The truck collided head-on with a police vehicle on a road near the southern Swedish town of Mercury. Wilks, 65, and two fellow police officers died on the spot. The truck driver was injured.
Swedish cartoonist Lars Wilkes did not shy away from bragging when the whole Muslim world was in a frenzy after the caricature of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was painted in 2006.
At the time, Lars Wilkes said cartoons were a trivial matter for insulting any religion. Why is there no relaxation in Islam in the case of Christians or Jews? So I do not understand. There is nothing to think of yourself as different or great. Islam is certainly not the holiest of all.
His cartoon was also published in a Danish newspaper. The media office and Wilkes were attacked. To handle the situation, the then Swedish Prime Minister also sat in a meeting with the ambassadors of 22 Muslim countries. Shortly afterwards, al-Qaeda announced a 100,000 reward for information leading to the capture of Wilkes.
From then on, Wilkes began living and moving under police guard. The controversial cartoonist died in a road accident while in a police car.
